Boba, an unexpectdectly massive drink in this decade's pop culture, is known for its unique tapioca pearls, which give off a chewy sensation. The drink first originated in Taiwan in the 1980s, bringing it to America in the 1990s. Boba most commonly uses milk tea, another staple drink of Asian culture, to create both a multifaceted experience to enjoy.
There are many different ways to make Boba, but the original and most popular way to make them is to use cassava root flour or tapioca flour, forming them into small and round balls, and then putting them with your favorite drink!
While any drink can be used in combination with the tapioca pearls, most Boba teashops use either: fruit flavors (i.e. Mango, Honeydew, Strawberry) or milk tea based flavors such as brown sugar or matcha.
